The Habibia Soofie Masjid in Cape Town, will be unveiling the renovated mazaar of its co-founder, Hazrath Moulana Abdul Latief Qadi Siddiqi (RA), with a weekend long event from Thursday 25 April until Sunday 28 April 2013.
The event coincides with the 100 year wisaal of Moulana Abdul Latief’s passing. Aptly themed “Ihsaan – The Science of Spirituality,” the event aims to not only reintroduce the country’s Muslim community to the mazaar, but also to the legacy left by the Awliya in the Cape.
Renowned international and local speakers have been invited to discuss contemporary matters such as the teachings of Tasawwuf and their practical application in today’s society. A platform will also be created for discourses between these scholars and the local community.
There will be a wealth of entertainment in the form of Qirah, Naat Shareef, Qawaal and Qasidah programs as well as a Middle Eastern souk.
A special ladies-only Naat programme hosted by radio personality Zakia Ahmed has also been confirmed.
A limited number of food and non-food stalls are still available for the souk. For bookings call Ameer Esack on 072 575 8786 or Mubeen Kagee on 072 707 2058.
