On the first night after Mughrib Salaah, read 20 rakaats in two rakaat units. In each rakaat after Surah Fateha read Surah Ikhlaas. After completion of salaam, one should read “La Illaaha Illalah” 30 times, and read durood shareef 30 times, and then humbly present your request to Allah, Insha Allah it will be granted.

Sayedina Khwaja Nizaamudeen Mehboobe Elahi  states that in the month of Rajab, ones Dua’s are readily accepted by Allah Ta-ala. There are four nights in this month that are considered to be very auspicious, the first night, the first Friday night, the 15th night and the 27th night of Lailatul Me’raaj. The first Friday night of the month of Rajab, is known as Lailatul Raghaaib. On this night, saints and pious people are granted many of Allah Ta-ala’s grace and bounty. On this night, after Mughrib Salaah read 6 rakaats with 3 salaams. In each rakaat after Surah Fateha read Surah Ikhlaas 3 times. Then wake up and go into sajda again and ask all your requirements of Allah, Insha Allah, Allah will grant it to you.

Sayedina Khwaja Nizaamudeen R.A. has stated that one who reads this Salaah on Lailatul Raghaaib will not die in that year. Sayedina Khwaja Nizaamudeen R.A. should read this Salaah in Jamaath.

The Recitation of Istighfaar in the month of Rajab

It is essential for one to recite daily 100 times this Istighfaar

1

"Astagfirullaha Li Zunoobi, Kuliha, Siriha Wa Jahriha, Sageeriha Wa Kabeeriha, Zawhiriha Wa Baatiniha, Qadeemiha Wa Jadeediha, Awaliha Wa Aakhiriha, Wa Atoobu Ilaihi, Allahumagh Firrli Bi Rahmatika."

"I Seek forgiveness from Allah for all my sins, that which is done in secret or openly, big or small, that which is visible and that which is hidden, that which is old or that which is new, that which is from the beginning or that which is recent and last, I repent to Him, O’ Allah, Forgive me!, By Your Mercy."

Any person who recites every Friday 100 times Surah Ikhlaas in the month of Rajab, on the day of Resurrection a light (Noor) will emanate from within him, and this light (Noor) will enter him into paradise. Any person who recites 70000 times Istighfaar in the month of Rajab will be forgiven by Allah.

In the Hadithe Qudsi, it is narrated that Allah S.W.T says that any person who recites the following Istighfaar 1000 times daily in the month of Rajab, will definitely witout doubt attain Allah’s forgiveness.

111

"Astaghfirullah Ya Dhal Jalaali Wal Ikraami Min Jamee’iz Zunoobi Wal Aathaam."

"I ask Allah for His forgiveness, He who is Exalted and Honourable, from all sins and evils.."

Ajaa-lbul-lstighfaar

This Istighfaar relates to Sayedina Abdullah Bin Shataal R.A. He was a companion of the Blessed Prophet Muhammed S.A.W. but he was disobedient and sinful. When he passed away, it is said that no one came forward to perform his janaaza nor did anyone accompany his body to the cemetery. Sayedina Jibreel A.S came to Allah's Messenger Muhammed S.A.W and informed him that it is Allah's command that the Messenger S.A.W perform this companions Janaaza and also bury this companion. The Messenger SAW obeyed Allah's command and instructed the Sahabas to do so as well. On the way to the cemetery, it was noticed that the Messenger of Allah SAW was walking on His toes (Tip Toeing) and when his body was placed in the grave the Prophet S.A.W laughed.

On returning home, the Sahabad inquired from the Messenger of Allah S.A.W. about this incident. The Prophet S.A.W replied that He walked on His toes because there was no place for His blessed feet as so many Angels had descended to accompany Sayedina Abdullah's RA.Janaaza. He SAW also replied that when He S.A.W laid the body into the grave, Hoors from Paradise had come, and they were fighting on who was going to give him Sharbath to drink first, seeing this He SAW laughed. Our Nabi SAW proceeded to the house of Sayedina Abdullah Ibn Shatal R.A and on enquiring from his wife, she replied that her husband did not do any good in this world, he drank alcohol, never performed his salaah, he gambled, and never ever kept any fast. But when the month of Rajab used to dawn upon him, he used to read this Isttghfaar regularly, Our Nabi SA W instructed the sahabah to write the following Istighfaar,

1

"Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

"In the name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Most Merciful I ask Allah for Forgiveness, I ask Allah for Forgiveness, I ask Allah for Forgiveness, He who there is none other worthy of worship except Him, The All Living, The Eternal, I repent to Him, I ask Allah for Forgiveness, and I repent to him from all that which He dislikes, O’ Allah, indeed I ask Your Forgiveness for that which I have done or will do, that which was done by me in secret or openly, You are the predecessor and You are the last, and You have power over everything. O’ Allah, I ask Allah Your Forgiveness for every sin that I have repented for, then returned to it again, I ask Your Forgiveness for that which I wished would be for You, and then I mixed it with that which did not gain Your Pleasure, and I ask Your Forgiveness for that which I promised You, and then I broke my promise, I ask Your forgiveness for that which my desire called me so that I may attain easiness in, and that was forbideen by You, I ask Your forgiveness for all the favours You bestowed on me, and which I used to be disobedient to You, I ask Your Forgiveness in those sins that none other can forgive me for except You, that no other can know except You, that no other can bypass except Your Kindness, that no other can save me from except Your Compassion. And I seek Your Forgiveness for every oath that I took and I did not fulfil it, and I seek Your Forgiveness, O’ who there is none other worthy of worship except You, Glory Be to You, Indeed I am of the Transgressors. And Allah sends Saltutation to the best of His Creation, and all the companions of the best of His Creation, My Lord Forgive Me, and have Mercy on ME, You are the best of those whom have Mercy. And I seek Your Forgiveness, O’ You Who Possesses Knowledge of all that is open and hidden, from all my actions that I did during the day, and during the darkness of the night, that which I did publicly, and that which I did alone, those actions that I did secretly and those actions that were done openly, all that whilst You were watching me when I disobeyed You and sinned, O; You who is Kind. And I ask your forgiveness O’ Who there is none other worthy of worship except You, glory be to You, indeed I am of the transgressors, My Lord forgive me, and have mercy on me, You are the best of those whom have mercy. And I ask Your Forgiveness for all that which you made compulsory on me, during the day and parts of the night, and I left it out purposely, or mistakenly, or forgetfully, and I am answerable for those obligations, And I ask Your Forgiveness for every tradition (sunnah) of the traditions (sunnan) of the Master of all the Messengers, the Seal of Prophethood, Muhammed S.A.W. that I have left out due to ignorance or laziness or slumber or that I undermined its importance, and I am admonished. And I ask Your forgiveness, there is none worthy of worship except You Alone, there is no partners onto You, glory be to You, the Lord of the Worlds, for You is the ownership, and for You is all praise, You are sufficient for us, You are the best of guardians, and the best of Masters, and You are the best Helper. Allah sends Salutations on Muhammed S.A.W to the number of all those who send saltutions to him, and also the number of those who don’t send salutations on Him, By Your Mercy, O You Most Merciful of those Who have Mercy."

The Salaah of Sayedina Owaise Qarni R.A. This Salaah is read on the third, fourth, and fifth of Rajab at about ten or eleven o’ clock. In the morning take Ghusl, after Ghusl recite four rakaats with one salaam. In this four rakaats after Surah Fateha read any Surah and after Salaam read 70 times;

“There is none worthy of worship except Allah, the True, Clear King, nothing resembles him, indeed He is the All-Hearing, All-Seeing."

Thereafter read 4 rakaats again and after Surah Fateha read Surah Nasr once & after the salaam read this Dua 70 times;

11

"Aqwa Muéenun Wa Ahdaa Wa Keelun, Bi Haqhi Iyyaaka Na’Budu Wa Iyyaaka Nastaéen."

Thereafter read 4 rakaats Salaah again and after Surah Fateha read 3 times Surah Ikhlaas in each rakaat. After Salaam read 70 times Surah Alam Nashrah. From the time of the Ghusl to the time when the Salaah iscompleted it is required that one should not indulge in any worldly talks. One would attain one’s goal or desires soon.

Sayedina Sultanul Mashaaikh Nizaamudeen Mehboob-e-Elahi R.A in his Fawaidul Fuwaad has stated that a person by the name of Moeenudeen used to debate about Islam on an intellectual level. People were surprised at his knowledge and enquired how he had achieved this level of Ilm. He Bstated that when he had reached the age of maturity, he had once read this Salaah of Sayedina Owaise Qarni , after performing this Salaah, he begged Allah to grant him this knowledge that he had not received in his youth. Allah Ta-Ala granted him his request and increased his knowledge to such an extent that he could easily debate or explain any issue that
confronted him.

Shabe Me'raaj

The 27th night of Rajab al Murajab is the Lailatul Me’raj (night of Ascension). On this night Allah S.W.T. sent Sayedina Jibreel A.S. to the beloved Messenger Muhammed S.A.W. and brought the beloved Habeeb Muhammed S.A.W. to him. This entire course of events is mentioned in the Quran and in the narrations from the beloved Habeeb S.A.W. himself. In a small portion of time, the beloved Habeeb Muhammed S.A.W. was taken from Masjidul Harram in Makka, to Masjidul Aqsa in Jerusalem, it was here that the Messenger S.A.W.met with all the previous Prophets of Allah S.W.T. and then led them in Salaah. From Baitul Maqdas, Sayedina Jibreel A.S. escorted the Prophet S.A.W. on the ascension of the heavens, and right unto Sidratul Muntaha. At the point of Sidratul Muntaha, there is a huge Tree. On every leaf, there was the Illumination of Allah. The entire tree was light upon light. Sidratul Muntaha is the culmination point for all of creation. When the Prophet S.A.W. proceeded further than this point, Sayedina Jibreel A.S. himself did not continue escorting him. The Prophet S.A.W. enquired as to why he did not proceed, and Sayedina Jibreel A.S. informed him, “O’ Messenger of Allah S.W.T., I cannot proceed even one step from this point, if I have too, I will be burnt by the ‘Great Veils’. From this point, the
Messenger S.A.W. then proceeded from this point alone. The Prophet S.A.W. proceeded even further than the great Arsh and throne of Allah S.W.T. The Habeeb S.A.W. was blessed with seeing Allah S.W.T. It was also on this Me’raj, that Allah blessed the HabeebS.A.W., that he saw Paradise and Hell-fire and the various other creations of Allah. What the Messenger S.A.W. was granted permission to see, is mentioned in various Ahaadith. On this night Allah made Salaah compulsory 5 times a day. In summary, after the Prophet S.A.W. saw Allah S.W.T., The Creator of all Creation, and all that Allah has prepared for His Servants, He S.A.W. returned to Makka and to his bed in such a short time, that his bed was still warm. This entire narration is what is called Me’raj, and this was the physical ascension (Me’raj). There are those who claim that Me’raj and ascension was spiritual and not physical, this is their incorrect deductions. In reality, the Me’raj was physical, and this is the opinion of the great predecessors and Ulama.

This is a very important night for the believers, as Allah Ta-Ala presented to our Messenger Muhammed S.A.W. for His Ummah the 5 times Salaah and the 30 days of fasting in the month of Ramadaan. Allah Ta-Ala has shown His ‘Deedaar” to the Prophet S.A.W. On this night Allah sends unlimited blessings on His pious servants who spend this night in Ibaadath. On this night one should read 6 rakaats of Salaah with 3 salaams. In each rakaat after Surah Fateha, one should read 7 times Surah Ikhlaas. After performing this Salaah one should request ones needs of Allah Ta-Ala. If this Salaah is read with intense sincerity, then before one wakes up from ones place of worship, Allah will grant ones request, Insha Allah. Also one will be rewarded the reward of the performance of 25 haj, the sawaab of giving charity equivalent to a mountain, and on the Day of Resurrection, one will be of the peaceful ones. One should also read 12 rakaats with one salaam. After reading Surah Fateha, recite any Surah one wants to read, after Salaam read 100 times
Durood Shareef and 100 times the Third Kalima, thereafter read 100 times Astaghfirullaha Wa Atubu Elaihi. After these three recitals go into Sajda and ask ones desires of Allah. Shaikul Islam, Sayedina Fareedul Haq R.A. has stated that on this night, one can read 100 rakaats of Salaah. In each rakaat, read Surah Fateha and 5 times Surah Ikhlaas, after its completion read 100 times Durood Shareef
and 100 times the Third Kalima, therafter go into sajda and ask ones needs of Allah Ta-Ala, Insha Allah it will be granted. Sayedina Fareedud Deen R.A. has stated that it is mentioned in the book of Sayedina Khwaja Moinudeen Gareeb Nawaaz R.A. that this night is the night of Rahmat-e-Elaahi. One must benefit from the blessings of this night. Seventy thousand angels carry the tray of lights to the house of one who is solely confined to worshipping Allah and seeking His forgiveness on this night. This tray of lights will be kept on the persons head. Sayedina Khwaja Gareeb Nawaaz R.A. asks how a Muslim can deprive himself from the blessings of such a night. Sayedina Sultaanul Mashaaikh Nizaamudeen R.A has stated that one can read 4 rakaats of Salaah on this night, and on its completion, one can ask Allah for long life and also for protection from poverty and starvation. In the last 3 days of Rajab if one reads 300 times Istighfaar, Allah will pardon all of ones sins. It is also a Fadheelat and excellent act to complete the recital of one Quran Shareef in these last three days. Charity given on these last 3 days will act as a shield between one and the Hell-fire. In these last three days of Rajab if one brings peace between two people, Allah will grant one the reward of 100 years of fasting.

It is also stated that the one who performs 12 rakaats of Salaah on the last day of Rajab, Allah will prolong one’s age, grant one comfort in life, protect one from sins and allow one to enjoy the auspiciousness of Martyrdom. In these 12 rakaats, one must recite after Surah Fateha. Ayatul Kursi, Surah Kaafiroon, Surah Ikhlaas 3 times in every rakaat, and after Salaam read the following Dua,

1

"Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem, Ya Ajallu min Kuli Jaleelin, YA Akramu min Kuli Kareemin, Ya A’zamu Min Kuli Azeemin, Ya Arhamu min Kuli
Raheemin, Ya Aázzu Min Kuli Azeezin, Ya Auhadu min Kuli Waheedin, Ya Ahadu Khairun min Kuli Ahadin, Anta Rabbi, La Rabba Li Siwaaka, Ya Ghiyaathal Mustagheetheen Wa Rajaa-hum, Agheethni Bi Fadhlika, Wa Mudda fi Umri Maddan Taweelan, Fi Ridaakha, Bil Aáfiyathi, Bi Rahmatika Ya Wahhaabu, Ya Kareemu, Innaka A’la Kuli Shay-in Qadeer."

In the name of Allah, The Most Beneficent, The Most Merciful, O’You The Most Exalted of all exalted ones, O’You the Most Honourable
of all honourable ones, O’You Most Merciful of all the merciful ones, O’You Most Respected of all the respected ones, O You the Unique of all, O’You the only One in Oneness, You are My Lord, there is no Lord for me besides You, O’ You The Provider to all those seeking blessings, and desires, Provide for me through Your Excellence, Extend my life for me, an extension in seeking Your Pleasure, By Your Compassion, and by Your Mercy, O’You Who is The Giver, O’You the Most Generous, Indeed You have the Most Power over everything."

In another hadith it is stated that one can get the reward of freeing 60 000 slaves, giving away 600 000 camels in the path of Allah, and every fast one keeps one will get the
sawaab of 600 000 years of lbaadath.

The fasts of Ayaame Beed

Fasting on the 13th, 14th and I5th of every month. Sayedina Ali R.A. has stated that Rasullulah S.A.W. has said that Sayedina Jibreel AS. reported that when Sayedina Adam AS was sent down to the earth his entire body had turned black. It was the 13th of the month and that Sayedina Adam AS. had cried so much that a stream was flowing because of his tears. He questioned Sayedina Jibraeel R.A to what had happened to the beauty of his body and what had happened 'to the clothing of paradise that he was wearing' and where Bibi Hawa was. Sayedina Jibraeel R.A. replied that he did not know except that Allah Ta-Ala had commanded him to fast on this 13th day. As a result of this fasting part of his body had become white. Sayedina Adam A.S was also asked to fast on the 14th day and immediately the second half of his body became white and when he fasted again on the 15th, his entire body became white as before. He regained his beauty and elegance. Therefore these 3 days of fasting are called Ayaame Beed. One who keeps fast on one day of Ayaam-e-Beed, a third of a portion of ones sins will be forgiven. If one keeps the second fast, two thirds will be forgiven, and if one keeps the third fast one's sins will be entirely forgiven. Then Sayedina Jibraeel A.S. told our Nabi S.A.W. that there will be glad tidings on you and your Ummat so tell your Ummat to keep the fastings of Ayaam-e- Beed. The Prophet S.A.W. instructed Sayedina Ali R.A. and said to him, “O’ Ali R.A. remain steadfast on the keeping the fast of Ayaam-e-Beed, if one remains steadfast and keeps the fast, for the 13th Allah will reward him with reward of 2000 years, for the 14th Allah will reward him with the reward of 30 000 years, and for the 15th Allah will reward him with the reward of 100 000 years. Allah also specifically praised the people of fasting. In Surah Al Ahzaab Allah says, “The fasting believing man and the fasting believing women!” the fast that these believers are praised for here are the fasts of the month of Ramadaan and Ayaame Beed!

In the book Fawaidul Fawaid, once some one enquired of Sayedina Abu Abbas R.A. that which of the fasts are the best? Sayedina Abu Abbas R.A. said that, "If you want to keep the fast of Dawood R.A, then keep fast for one day and break the fast the next day, do this for an entire year" "If, you want to keep the fasts of Suleiman R.A. then you should fast for 3 days in every month." "If, you want to keep the fast of Sayedina Isa R.A. then fast for the whole year and if, you want to keep the fast of our Nabi S.A.W. then keep the fast of Ayaam-e-Beed."
Sayedina Anas R.A. narrated that during the month of Shawwal if one would read 12 rakaats of Salaah and in every rakaat recite Surah Ikhlaas once after Surah Fateha, thereafter reading 70 times Kalima Tamjeed and 70 times 'Astaghfirrullah wa atubu elaih', the fountain of wisdom will flow from one's heart and tongue, one will be kept away from the hardships of the Duniya and the Aakhirat and Allah will forgive one for one's entire sins, ones debts will be paid, in paradise one will be awarded a special orchard which will have 10 000 fruits and one will be given the permission to make intercession of 700 people and take them to Jannath.

Intro to Thul Hijjah

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

Shaikhul Islam Hazrath Fareedudeen (R.A.) states, that on the first night of Zil Hijjah read 2 rakaats of Nafil Salaah.

In the first rakaat after Surah Fateha read the first 3 verses of Surah In-aam. In the second rakaat after Surah Fateha read Surah Ikhlaas, once. The reward of one Hajj will be granted to the person who reads this Salaah. Sayedina Baba Fareed  states that a person who was a great sinner passed away. People who were aware of his state were afraid as to what punishment would be metered out to him in the grave. The night of his passing, a pious man dreamt of him, and questioned him as to how Allah S.W.T had dealth with him. He replied to the pious man that when people had buried me and left, the angels of punishment had started to appear in my grave, and as they were about to punish me, Allah ordered them to leave me alone, He had forgiven me. The angels wanted to know from Allah as to what the reason was that He had forgiven me, for I was a great faasiq (sinner), how can I be entitled to paradise. Allah said to his angels that indeed what you have said about him being a sinner is true, however when the month of Zil Hijjah dawned upon him, on the first night of Zil Hijjah he used to recite this Salaah. For reciting this Salaah, I have forgiven all his sins.

"O’ Allah! This month of Ramadaan, admit it onto us with safety and faith, and good health from sickness, and freedom from unnecessary work, and assist us in fasting, prayer and recitation of the Qur’an, until when the month leaves us, You have forgiven us and are pleased with us. O’ Allah! This month of Ramadaan has arrived, so make it peaceful for us and make us peaceful for it, with enlightenment and pardon from You. O’ Allah! Grant us its fasting and prayer with us saying: “With faith and seeking reward”. O’ Allah! Remove from us laziness, weakness and hardship, and grant us in it all good, reward, strength and progress, just as You love and are pleased with. The month of Ramadaan is the month of Allah Ta-ala's excellence and grace."

On the first night of Ramadaan perform two rakaats of Salaah, in each rakaat after Surah Fateha recite Surah Fatah once. Insha Allah, the reciter will be performed from all trials, tribulation and calamities. It is also recommended that every night of Ramadaan after the Witr Salaah, one must perform two rakaats Salaah standing, in the first rakaat after Surah Fateha, Surah Zil Zalah, and in the second rakaat after Surah Fateha Surah Kaafiroon once. Thereafter immediately recite another two rakaats Salaah in the same manner with the same Surahs, but this time sitting.

Sayedina Shamsul Aulia Sultaanul Asfiya Al-Murshid Al-Haadi Khwaja Hafiz Mohammad Ali Shah Khairabadi R.A. advised his followers to also read this Salaah in this manner, in the first rakaat after Surah Fateha, Surah Takaathur three times and in the second rakaat after Surah Fateha, Surah Ikhlaas five times. O’ Allah, if You recorded us as those who will remain in eternal bliss, then grant us steadfastness, and if You have recorded us as those who are to suffer eternally, then remove our names from this record and record us as those to receive eternal bliss, for indeed You remove that which You wish, and affirm that which You wish.

It was on this night that the Quran was sent down from Loh-e-Mahfooz to the first heaven and from here as the need arose. Sayedina Jibraeel A.S. revealed the verses to our Nabi S.A.W. The Holy Prophet S.A.W. has stated that in the month of Ramadaan, paradise is decorated and its doors are opened. The doors of Jahanam (Hellfire) are closed, and the Shayateen (plural of shaitaan) are locked up. Allah says that: "fasting is for me and only I am its rewards." Our Nabi S.A.W. has stated that one day of fasting in the month of Muharram, Rajab, Zil Qadah and Zil Hijjah is equal to 30 days of fasting of any other month, but one fast of the month of Ramadaan is equal to the 30 days fasts of It is narrated by Sayedina Abu Hurairah R.A. that the Messenger S.A.W. said, “When the month of Ramadan enters, the doors of Paradise are opened, the doors of Hellfire are shut, and the Shaitaan are chained.” (Sahih Muslim, Book of Fasting, Chapter on the superiority of fasting, Hadith 2495, page 439) the months of Muharram, Rajab, Zil Qadah and Zil Hijjah.

There are 3 kinds of fasting

Firstly, the fast of the general masses. Secondly, the fast of elite people.and thirdly, the fasts of the very elite type of people.

صِیَامُ الْعَوَامِ

In the first instance the person who fasts keeps himself away from hunger thirst and sexual acts etc.

صِیَامُ الْخَوَاصِ

In the second instance the person who fasts not only keeps away from hunger, thirst and sexual acts etc. but also seeing to the different parts of the body such as the eyes, ears, hands and legs are also kept away from evil actions, thoughts and activities. At the time of Iftaar especially, this person refrains from any Haraam, even any thing that is doubtful and may lead to Haraam, they keep away from that! After Iftaar, this person keeps his heart with fear and hope so that he has hope that Allah has accepted his fast, and has fear that he may have transgressed and Allah will not accept it.

صِیَام خَوَاصُ الخَواصِ

The third fasting refers to one who continuously indulges oneself to Allah's remembrance and one who does not indulge in any worldly activities.

The night of power and the reading of Nafil Namaaz

Some are of the opinion that Lailatul Qadr falls on the 29th of Ramadaan whilst some say its on the 23rd or the 25th, however most Mashaikh are of the opinion that it falls on the 27th of Ramadaan. l'tikaaf: A Sunnat-e-Maakida

I'tikaaf is on the last 10 days of Ramadaanul Mubarak. Our Nabi S.A.W. sat for Itikaaf in every Ramadaan except one, when Our Nabi S.A.W. was partaking of a battle but did make this I'tikaaf Qada and he stayed on this occasion 20 days instead of the normal 10 days. One should sit for Itikaaf in a musjid where 5 times prayer is being performed daily. Only for the purposes of answering natures call or for Ghusl that one is allowed to leave the musjid. Some Mashaikh use to sit for Itikaaf for one Arbaeen whilst others use to sit for 3 arbaeens.

a) Arbaeen-e-Muhammadi S.A.W.

The last 10 days of Shabaan and the entire month of Ramadaan the Prophet S.A.W. stayed in I'tikaaf. This is known as Arbaeen-e-Muhammadi S.A.W.

b) Arbaeen-e-Musa R.A.

The whole month of Zil Qadah and the first 10 days of Zil Hijjah excluding the 10th of Zil Hijjah which is the day of Eid and including the 11th of Zil Hijjah which will give one 40 days in total. This act is known as Arbaeen-e-Musa R.A.

c) Arbaeen-e-Isa R.A.

The whole month of Rajab and the first 10 days of Shabaan will give one 40 days in total. This is known as Arbaeen-e-Isa R.A. If possible one should perform all these 3 Arbaeens. One should not involve oneself in any worldly activities and should indulge only in Zikrullah, Muraqiba etc.

Sayedina Shamsul Aulia Sultaanul Asfiya Al-Murshid Al-Haadi Khwaja Hafiz Mohammad Ali Shah Khairabadi R.A. on the 20th of
Ramadaan after Asar used to sit for I'tikaaf. Once Sayedina attended the Urs Shareef of Sayedina Kazi Sharfudeen R.A., he left for the Urs on the 20th of Shabaan ul Muazzam and stayed in I'tikaaf right till the end of Ramadaan ul Mubarak. On the last day of Ramadaan one should read 10 rakaats of Nafil Salaah with 5 salaams. After salaam read a 1000 times Istighfaar and go into Sajdah and read,

1

"Ya Hayyu, Ya Qayyumu, Ya Zal Jalaali Wal Ikraami, Ya Rahmaanad Dunya Wal Aakhirati, Ya Arhamar Raahimeen, Ya Ilaahal Awwaleena Wal Aakhireena, Ighfir Zunoobi, Wa Taqabal Salaati Wa Siyaami Wa Qiyaami."

The duas mentioned for the other months should also be read in Zil Qadah. Hazrath Abu Huraira (R.A.) reported that in Zil Qadah there is one night which is equal to a 170 years and that this night is the 5th of Zil Qaid.

Anyone who recites Quran, performs Zikrullah or even his salaat Allah will grant him the sawaab of the Ibaadath of 170 years. On this night read 2 rakaats for elevating one's position. In every rakaat after Surah Fateha read Surah Muzammil once. After salaam read 3 times Surah Yaseen. At the end of Zil Qaid after Namaaz-e-Chaast read 2 rakaats of Nafil.

The Importance of the first 10 Days of Zil Hijjah

There is none worthy of worship but Allah, from today until the day when the trumpet is blown; There is none worthy of worship but Allah, as much as thorns and trees; There is none worthy of worship but Allah, as much as hair and clay; There is none worthy of worship but Allah, as much as thoughts and suspicions; There is none worthy of worship but Allah, as much as the blinking of eyes; There is none worthy of worship but Allah, better than what they gather for; There is none worthy of worship but Allah, during the night as it departs and the dawn as it brightens. May Allah send salutations upon the best of His creation, Sayyidunaa Muhammad SAW and all his family, as much as His knowledge encompasses and His Pen records, and His Will decrees and may He send abundant blessings upon them."

Any person choosing to read a 1000 times Surah Ikhlaas on the day of Arafaat will receive anything he desires of Allah Ta-ala.It is also recommended that on the Day of Arafat as the time of sunset approaches, one should recite the following Thana of Allah one hundred times."

In the Name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest. O’ Allah! This is my sacrifice; its flesh is for my flesh, its blood is for my blood, its bones are for my bones. Verily, my prayer, my sacrifice, my life and my death are for Allah, The Lord of the worlds; He has no partner, and by this I have been commanded, and I am the first of those who have submitted. O’ Allah! Accept this from me just as You accepted from Your close friend, Nabi Ibraheem A.S.

On the last day of Zil Hijjah keep fast and after Salaatul Esha read 2 rakaats of Salaah, in every rakaat after Surah Fateha read 100 ayats, meaning read from Surah Subihisma to Surah Wadduha. Allah will forgive your entire sins. After this read this dua below 7 times,

Lee, Wa Ma A’miltu Min A’malin Tardeehi, Wa Wa-A’tani Alaihis Thawaabu Fa Ta Qabaluhu Minni, Wa La Taqta-oo’ Rajaa-I Ya Azeemar Rajaa-i."

"O’ Allah! Whatever I have done of an action that You have prohibited me from doing and You were not pleased with it, and I forgot it but You did not forget it, and You have overlooked it after Your power to punish me, and You called me to repentance after I transgressed against You. O’ Allah! Verily, I seek Your forgiveness from it, O’ Oft-Forgiving, so forgive me; and what I have done of an action that You are pleased with and have promised me reward for it, do accept it from me, and do not cut off my hopes, O’ Great One of hopes."
